NBTE Accredits New Courses For KSITM

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has accredited some National Diploma (ND) programmes for the Katsina State Institute of Technology Management (KSITM) in Business Informatics, Computer Hardware Technology, Security Management

Technology and Islamic Finance.

On the list awaiting accreditation are Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Library Science.
This was contained in a speech given by the Rector of the institution, Dr. Babangida Abubakar Albaba, during the 6th Matriculation ceremony of the school.
According to him, KSITM was built as an ICT centre and an Innovation Enterprise Institute (1EI) by NITDA for the State Government for lCT training with a mandate to foster technological innovations and entrepreneurial development in the State.
The Rector also admonished the
matriculants to be of good conduct and be virtuous representatives of the institution while cautioning them to shun all forms of vices like cultism, hooliganism, stealing,
disrespect, indecent dressing, and
prostitution, among others.
In his goodwill message to the school, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, represented at the event by the Katsina State Coordinator, Mr. Nasir Magashi, charged the institution to keep striving for the best in service delivery, particularly in terms of moulding morals and characters and raising future leaders for the country.
The Registrar concluded by saying that given the pace with which the school was growing, it would not be long before it qualified for TETfund intervention.
