Olojo, LIRS, Ready To Support LASU On Developmental Goals

The Lagos State University Directorate of Advancement (LASUDA) has reached out to the Olojo of Ojo Kingdom, Oba Galib Adeniyi Rufai and the Executive Chairman, Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Mr. Hamzat Ayodele Zubair, to explore ways of working together, for the development of the institution.
The two prominent personalities gave their words, to work with and support the institution for development on Friday, 18th November 2022, when the Director, LASUDA, Prof. Yinka Okubena-Dipeolu, met the duo separately, at Ojo and Ikeja, respectively.
The first port of call was the Palace of the paramount ruler, where the Director briefed the Royal father about the activities and the achievements of the Directorate so far, with the latest being the free medical outreach held in Badagry recently.
“Kabiyesi, thank you for receiving us. We are from LASU and we represent LASUDA. Government can’t do it all alone, hence, we need the support of well-meaning individuals, stakeholders, corporate organisations, royal fathers and more, to partner LASU, for development. This partnership could be in form of an endowment, infrastructure and equipment, donated to the University”, Prof.  Okubena-Dipeolu told Oba Rufai.
In her speech, she averred that such a partnership would forever be a legacy that would outlive the benefactor, as the name of a such benefactor would be etched in gold.
In his response, Oba Adeife 1, replied that he would work with LASUDA to support LASU for immense growth.
He thanked the Director and her team for deeming it fit, to stop by his Palace. He told the team he would study the proposal from LASUDA and get back in due course.
From, Ojo, Lagos, the team moved to Alausa, Ikeja to meet the Director, LIRS, who cut short his meeting with the Management of LIRS to attend to his visitors from LASU.
Prof. Okubena-Dipeolu, once again made known the mission of the team to the Chairman, LIRS.
Mr. Zubair stated that he would throw his support behind any intervention in education. He said he would link the Directorate up with organisations as well as foundations whose primary goal is in such direction.
He wished the team well in its quest to uplift LASU.
The Director was accompanied on the visit by Assistant Director, LASUDA, Dr. Oluwafunmilayo Ometan, Assistant Director, Ms. Aminat Ige, Principal Assistant Registrar, LASUDA, Mr. Zacheous Idowu and other staff of the Directorate.
