The Students’ Affairs Division of the Lagos State University (LASU), on Thursday, held a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Pre-Mobilization Sensitization Programme for final year students at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, main campus, Ojo.
The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Prof. Tajudeen Olumoko, in his opening remarks explained that the purpose of the pre-mobilization programme is to sensitize the students about some of the challenges they might encounter during registration for NYSC mobilisation exercise and educate them on how to navigate their ways through the same.
The Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs, Mrs. Z.F. Ashiru-Mobolaji, in her welcome address, appreciated the NYSC officials for the initiative, saying “The University Management led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olatunji-Bello has made the pre-mobilization programme part of the welfare package for the students so that they can have a hitch free NYSC mobilization exercise”.
She advised the participants to listen with rapt attention, as they would benefit from the Sensitization exercise.”
The first presentation was done by the Assistant Director, Deployment and Relocation, NYSC Secretariat, Surulere, Lagos, Mrs. Mathias Margaret Omaji, who spoke on “What Next After Mobilization for NYSC?”
This was followed by another presentation by the ICT Desk Officer, NYSC Secretariat, Surulere, Lagos, Engr. Oluwafemi Afe, who educated the prospective corps members on “Procedures for Registration and other NYSC Related Issues.”
Besides, the Admission Officer/Principal Assistant Registrar, Admissions, LASU, Mr. Kabiru Okugbesan enlightened the students on “Relationship between NYSC and JAMB”.
The last presentation for the sensitization exercise was delivered by Assistant Chief Executive Officer/ NYSC Data Entry Officer, LASU, Mr. Ismail Bariu, who talked about “Error-free enrollment into the NYSC Mobilization Portal”.
The exercise for Epe and Ikeja campuses will hold on Wednesday, 7th and Friday 9th December 2022, respectively.
