… Don’t Accept Admissions Without JAMB Letter
The Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board (JAMB) has
found it necessary to warn
admission seekers to desist from
accepting any admission given to them by any Institution outside the purview of the Central Admissions Processing System(CAPS).
Jambulletin noted that this note of warning is necessitated by the series of inquiries by a crass section of candidates, who were offered admissions on the individual platforms of some institutions as evinced in the Letters of Admission subsequently issued to them and wished to find out the propriety of such documents.
“It should be reiterated that offering candidates admissions outside CAPS is illegal and any effort in that regard is capable of putting
the candidates’ futures in jeopardy.
“As lecturers in many public
universities, who were on strike resumed work, coupled with the feverish attempts by these universities to recover lost time,
admissions are being processed by those who had finished their academic sessions or are about to complete theirs, candidates
are advised to note that the Board would no longer condone any illegal admission.”
JAMB urged candidates not to fall for the wiles of these Institutions, which seek to lure them into accepting admissions on their respective portals.
The Board advised candidates to print their Letters of Admission as issued by the Board before they register for their programmes of study at their chosen Institutions.
The Board added,” It is these Letters of Admission that should be the pivot on which their subsequent registration at their respective institutions revolve.”
