Acting NYSC DG Implores Corps Members To Promote National Unity, Integration 

The 2022 Batch C Stream 11 Corps Members deployed to Imo State have been implored to promote national unity and integration by imbibing and entrenching the culture of working together in an atmosphere filled with friendship, peace, harmony and a shared vision of a great Nigeria.
The Acting Director-General of the  National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Christy Uba made this call in an address delivered by the State Coordinator, of  NYSC Imo State, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, when she presided over the opening ceremony of the orientation course for the 2022 Batch C Stream II Corps Members deployed to Imo State.
At the flag-off of the swearing-in ceremony that was held at the permanent orientation camp in Eziama Obaire, she also used the opportunity to enjoin the corps members to acquaint or familiarize themselves with the provisions of the NYSC  Act and the Bye-Laws, stressing that this move, “Will guide their conduct in the service year as well as have a significant influence on their post-service life”
Mrs. Uba also urged the Corps Members to avoid using social media to spread fake news and for other negative purposes and appealed that “It should be used for the promotion of national unity and development”
Similarly, she reminded them that jobs are not readily available, urging them to avail themselves of the opportunities for self-employment provided through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme geared towards empowering them to acquire relevant skills, create wealth, jobs and contribute their quota to national development.
Besides, the Acting DG seized the opportunity to express profound gratitude to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), State Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Health, Security Agencies, Traditional Rulers, Corps Employers,  Federal, State and Local Governments and other stakeholders for their support and assistance.
Earlier at the occasion, the representative of the Chief Judge of Imo State, Hon. Justice L.C Alinnor, administered the National Pledge and the Oath of Allegiance to the new corps members deployed to the state totaling 1000 in number at the colourful occasion.
