Development Group (IDRDG)
rolled out its activities for 2023 and boosted education through the presentation of awards to best students and schools in mathematics in the Ikorodu Division of Lagos State.
The event was the first monthly meeting of IDRDG on Wednesday at Gbadamosi Conference Room, Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, where
its chairman, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, spoke about the agenda for the year, with
presentation of awards of
excellence to the best schools
as well as the best students in
Ikorodu Division in a mathematics competition it organised on November 23, 2022, where 28 senior secondary schools participated.
In the awards Ayangburen Senior High School, Ikorodu, took the first position, Zumuratul-Islamiyyah Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo came second while Abule-Eko Community Senior Grammar School, Ijede, took the third position.
Students who received awards included Oyebade Testimony, who took the first position, from Elepe
Community High School, Elepe, Iyibo Elizabeth from Abule-Eko Community Senior Grammar School, Ijede, took the second position, and Emmanuel Caleb from Zumuratul-Islamiyyah Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo, took the third position.
Ogunlewe in his address congratulate the students and urged them to steer clear of social vices, and keep the flag flying.
He charged them to pay more attention to their studies, stressing that they could achieve success in all subjects once they are committed to their studies.
In the same vein, the principals and teachers were commended for their efforts in ensuring that the students performed well in the competition, and were implored
not to relent in contributing
to nation building.
