Ogun Gov. Approves Payment Of Leave Bonuses To Secondary School Teachers

In a bid to boost the morale of teachers in Ogun State for improved productivity, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the payment of leave bonus installment for the months of January and February to Secondary School teachers commencing from this week.

Prince Abiodun revealed this during an interaction with the Academic Staff Union of Secondary School Teachers in the State, saying ‘’ what we did was that, as from January of 2023, we will start paying leave bonuses in installments with your salaries, every month, you get a chunk of it, so that it won’t accrue any more’’.

Governor Abiodun said his administration was currently working towards paying a lump sum to clear some part of the global deductions owed secondary school teachers in the State, noting that within 24 hours, they would hear from the government.

Abiodun promised that the position of the Principal-General would be gazette, while ensuring the four of them would get their official vehicles before the end of the week.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Felix Agbesanwa, commended the Governor for his laudable steps at repositioning the education sector, applauding him for restoring the Office of the Principal-General and the introduction of the Learners’ Identification Number which allows parents and guardians to track the progress of their children /wards.
