NUC Team Arrives LASU Campus For ODLRI Post Validation Exercise

A National Universities Commission Team is currently on the University’s main campus, Ojo, for the Post-Validation Assessment Exercise of the Open and Distant Learning and Research Institute of the University.

The team, led by the immediate-past Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, arrived at the campus very early on Monday to, amongst other things, assess the University’s level of compliance with the NUC/ODL guidelines in terms of the approved ICT-enabled supported blended learning and availability of ODL compliant learning resources in the mixed-media format for the approved take off programme; ascertain the standard of academic, administrative and social support provided to the distance learners and assess LASU’s ICT/Learner support facilities and services.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, in her address, appreciated the team for its interest in LASU noting that the visit was a major step towards actualizing the University’s vision to provide quality educational opportunities as many knowledge seekers as possible regardless of their locations by leveraging on technology.

She assured the team that the University has put in the needed efforts to make the assessment a success and promised that the team would get all the support it needed to succeed.

Leader of the NUC team, Prof. Ogundipe, assured that the visit was to quality assure the Open and Distance Learning Programme put on a globally competitive standard. He urged members of the management to continue to work with the VC to achieve her vision for the University.

The assessment exercise, which is expected to last for three days will end on Wednesday, 7th June 2023.
