National Broadcasting Corporation Lagos Zone Officials Visits LASU

A team from the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Lagos Zone, led by its Zonal Director, Mr. Raphael Akpan, Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi I. Olatunji-Bello.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Adenike O. Boyo, received the team on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, at the Conference Room, Vice Chancellor’s office, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.

The team lead, Mr. Raphael Akpan, in his remarks stated that it is a culture of the commission to pay courtesy visits to broadcast stations under its zones to monitor compliance and technical output as well as appreciate resources available to the station and see where the commission can render assistance.

He also commended the University Management for having a well-organized campus radio and for taking information dissemination seriously.

In her response, the representative of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adenike Boyo, appreciated the officials and affirmed that LASU Radio is a training centre for students and its mission is to positively impact the university community as well as disseminate useful information.

The Dean, the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Prof. Sunday Alawode, in his remarks, appreciated the University Management for the continuous support shown towards LASU Radio and reiterated that the campus radio which isn’t commercial-oriented is mainly for training students.

The Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel Fanu gave the vote of thanks.

The meeting had in attendance the representative of the Bursar, Mr. Olabisi Yusuf, Mr. Okusaga Tajudeen who represented the University Librarian and Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lateef Salami.

Staff members of the Vice Chancellor’s Office, LASU Radio and the Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR) were equally in attendance.
