Educational Devt: Ogun Tescom Inducts 141 Principals

Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), has inducted 141 new Principals of Secondary Schools, to assume managerial and administrative duties towards educational advancement in schools.

Chairman of the Commission, Evang. Olalekan Ifede, who spoke during the induction ceremony at Abeokuta Grammar School, Idi-Aba, said the event was in furtherance of the educational agenda of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

Evang. Ifede, who stated that the role of principals in effective coordination of school could not be overemphasized, urged them to display exemplary leadership skills as they were being entrusted with the post of authority, congratulating the inductees for reaching the peak of their profession.

“This administration has stood by its teachers and only recently, the Governor through the commission has again released 2021/22 promotion letters to teachers of secondary schools across the state. I therefore charge all of them to be diligent as they assume Principalship position and always remember that to whom much is given, much is expected”, he said.

The Permanent Secretary, TESCOM, Dr. Waheed Olanloye in his address enjoined the newly appointed Principals to make discipline their watchword and be role models in their leadership.

Earlier in his address, Chairman of the induction ceremony and Commissioner IV, Hon. Ademola Adeleye, enjoined all the appointees and inducted principals to strive for excellence, saying the Commission was thorough in its screening exercise, enjoining them to deliver on the new mandate given to them.

On his part, the Chairman of All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Edward Adeniyi, admonished the newly inducted to write good history with the new office wherever they might be posted.

In their separate remarks, two of the inductees, Mr. Olawale Olaleye and Mrs. Theresa Adeboyejo commended the efforts of the present administration and TESCOM in a quest to standardise the teaching profession, promising to discharge their duties diligently.
