The Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAS) at the weekend conducted an entrance examination for the second batch of candidates seeking admission into the school.
The LASUSBAS JUPEB Foundation Programme entrance examination for the second batch of candidates took place at the school premises, Topo Badagry, Lagos.
While the candidates were writing the entrance examination, their parents were engaged in the operations of the school and were provided useful information on the programme.
The Director, Prof. Yunus Dauda in his address at the meeting with the parents and guardians, welcomed and congratulated them for choosing Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies for their children while hoping for admission into the University by the next academic session.
Prof. Dauda admonished the parents not to relent on their children but to continue to encourage them to do the needful towards attaining academic success and discourage them from illegal acts and other social vices that can hinder their academic success in life.
He added that Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAS) is one of the best schools around.
His words, “I am aware of what is going on in other JUPEB Universities, none of them can boast of the environment we have here. We have the most competent tutors, quality facilities, a conducive environment suitable for learning, and other useful arrangements. You will surely get value for your money here. I want you to be proud to be part of us. We assure you of success, ” he averred.
Prof. Dauda further commended the Lagos State Government and the University Management ably being led by Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello for their unwavering support.
He equally thanked the teaching and non-teaching staff in the school for their commitment.
Thereafter, the Director, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor welcomed the parents to the school and also extended felicitations.
Brief introduction and necessary information were made available by Service Centres, which include Registry (Senior Assistant Registrar, Mr. Sikiru Eniafe), Health (Matron, Mrs. Abosede Osafehinti), Security (ACSO, Mr. Israel Nugboyan), Library (Mr. Victor Adokun) and Bursary (Mr. O. Felix Adokun).
The brief programme was attended by the Deputy Director, Dr. G.M Saibu, Deans of the three Faculties; Mr. Obakanse Lakanse (Arts), Mr. Lukman Adeyemo, (Social/Management Sciences) and Dr. Ahmed Ashade (Science) and other stakeholders of LASU.
