Lagos Promises Infrastructure Support For Education In Oke-Odan

The Lagos State Government has promised to support the development of Education in Ogun State with the building of a block of classrooms in Oke-Odan, Yewa South Local Government area of the state.
Besides, the Governor of Lagos, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu said he would support the five hundred million naira development fund launched by the town on Saturday.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on EGIS and Urban Development,  Dr. Olajide Babatunde at the grand finale of the week-long Oke-Odan cultural festival said, “The Governor of Lagos State, our own Babajide Sanwo-Olu, gave me three messages to deliver to you at this unifying cultural gathering. One, he sends his fraternal greetings and urge you to sustain the event; secondly, he said the State will build a block of classrooms within a choice location of the this town and thirdly, he promised to support this development fund you are launching today.”
Host Monarch, Dr. Oluwarotimi Fagbenro,  lauded the Ogun State Governor,  Prince Dapo Abiodun for his development strides in the state, just as he appreciated the rehabilitation of the Owode-Ilaro road, among many other strides.
“We appeal to the government to construct a 2km ring road in Oke-Odan to take pressure off the main road,’ the Medical Doctor-turned Monarch appealed,  just as he recalled that he has been on the appeal for sometime now.
The Monarch, however, commended the G-30 for mooting the idea of the infrastructural development fund launched rolled into the unity carnival.
Speaking at the event,  Olu of Ilaro and Paramount ruler of Yewaland,  Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle said culture supercedes religion, just as he advised other Obas to “Use this kind of forum to foster unity which in itself engender development.”
Oba Olugbenle recalled and appreciated the intervention of the Senate President,  Senator Godswill Akpabio for the release of the Lagos-Abeokuta to the Governors of the adjourning States for total rehabilitation .
“I urge you Kabiyesi (Oloke-Odan) to consider doing this, may be bi-annually or as it suites you. It will bring more love, unity and ultimately the much-desired development.  Nothing is more important than self-help. Heaven helps those who help themselves. Talking and doing developmental work will move the government to action sometimes,” the Paramount ruler added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Lekan Osifeso lauded the intervention of the organisers of the week-long activities, just as he announced donation of  “An amount I will whisper to the Oba, in support of this development course.”
