The Katsina State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has called on the government to recruit Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) teachers to imbibe morals in pupils in the state.

Dr Musa Daniel-Danladi, the state CAN Secretary made the call during an interactive session with some journalists in Katsina on Monday.

According to him, the call has become imperative to enhance teaching and instil sound morals in public schools, especially in the southern part of the state where there is an appreciable number of indigenous Christians.

Similarly, he appealed to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda to appoint an indigenous Christian as Special Assistant (SA) on Christian Affairs in the state.

The CAN Secretary who noted that this has been the practice by the previous All Progressive Congress (APC) administration, appealed to the Governor to grant the request to ensure inclusiveness in his administration.

While commending the state government for its kind gesture to Christians during the Christmas celebrations, he prayed for God’s guidance and mercies for the administration to succeed in its efforts to create the desired conducive environment across the state.

Worthy of note, “We commend Gov. Radda for the tremendous effort in curbing insecurity in the state. As it stands, no single Christian is in the hands of kidnappers”.

“And we have recorded more than a month without receiving any report of attack, instead it’s the bandits that are being flushed out. This is quite commendable,” he said.

The CAN Secretary however admonished Christians to continue to pray for peace, unity and progress of the state and Nigeria in general.
