In its bid to alleviate the burden on parents, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency, Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd.), has indicated his desire to procure UTME application documents for all graduating Senior Secondary School Students across the State.
This was the message conveyed by the management of the Taraba State Education Resource Centre, to Mrs. Veronica Ayuba, the State Coordinator, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Taraba State Office, on Tuesday, 23rd January, 2024, during its courtesy visit to the facility in Jalingo, the State Capital.
In his address, the leader of the four-man team, the Director of the centre, Mr. Mohammed J.G. Mang, expressed appreciation to the State Coordinator for her open-door policy and for being a good ambassador of the Board at all times.
Mr. Mang disclosed that the purpose of their visit was to sensitise the Board about the free education policy of the Executive Governor for public schools in the State as well as obtain necessary information on the modalities for offsetting the cost of the forms for the students.
According to him, the Executive

Kefas (Rtd.), had, in furtherance of the free education policy of his
administration, informed the
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Education, of his kind intention to fund the 2024 UTME registration for Senior Secondary School (SSS 3) students in public schools across the State.
He stated that it was in this regard that the team had visited the State Office to be apprised of the modalities and cost implications for the 2024 UTME registration so as to report to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and the Governor for further action.
In her response, the State Coordinator, Mrs Veronica Ayuba, thanked the team for the visit and stated that her door is always open e should they need information and assistance that is not beyond her e scope.
d Ayuba, who gave a step-by-step e guide on the registration modalities to the visitors, while stressing other key components of the exercise to e include the procurement of profile code, UTME subject combinations (using IBASS) and the cost implication of the registration exercise either with mock or without mock examination, e among others. She, however,informed the team that the Board e does not condone group registration.
The Deputy Director, ERC, Mr.Aorabee Terkule, thanked the Coordinator for granting the team audience during the crucial time of the UTME registration exercise.
The Assistant Director, in charge of e ICT, Mr. Zakka Rimamtatso, and the Assistant Director, Examinations, Mr. E Ali Ahmed Lemu, promised that the e team would report to the Governor accordingly adding that the delegation would brief the State Coordinator as the need arises.
