Yobe Govt Pledges Commitment Towards Implementation Of Child Rights Law

Determined to protect the rights of Children in the State, Yobe State Government has pledged Its commitment towards the implementation of the child rights law in the state.

The Commissioner, of Yobe State Ministry of Youth Sports and Social Development, Alhaji Barma Shettima stated this while speaking at the opening of a 5-day capacity building workshop for members of the Yobe State Child Protection Law implementation committee in Kano.

He commended Governor Mai mala Buni for acsenting to the law which he said was meant to give adequate protection to Children in the state.

The Commissioner further commended partners; UNICEF, Save the Children and Care International for supporting the processes involved in the actualization of the Child Protection Law (CPL) in Yobe State.

He further explained that the CPL implementation Committee training is apt and timely organized to provide in-depth knowledge of the child protection law in the state.

Goodwill massages were delivered by representatives of UNICEF, Save The Children and Care International who highlighted the need for synergy and collaboration among critical stakeholders in the implementation process.

Presentations were made on stories of the Child Rights Law by Barrister Mustapha Wakil and the Child Rights Law & Religion by Professor Umar Alkali among others.
