As part of efforts to encourage continuing education, Gulani Local Government Area Youth Forum (GYF) has disbursed cash, worth over a Million Naira to 40 students across the Local Government Area studying in different institutions across the Country.
Speaking during the disbursement ceremony, the Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Jafa’ar Kukuwa, said the initiative was done as a result of the efforts made by two of Hon. Mai Mala Buni’s allies in persons of Dr. Mohammed Goje and Abubakar Mohammed Kukuwa (Zannah Dujima of Gujba).
He said candidates were chosen from 12 political wards across the Local Government Area and each beneficiary received the sum of Thirty Thousand Naira (#30,000) respectively.
Also speaking, the Treasurer of Nangere Local Government Area, Sale Babale Njibulwa, who represented the Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr Mohammed Goje at the disbursement ceremony, said the gesture was geared towards complementing the efforts of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s passion on education.
In separate remarks, the Zannah Dujima of Gujba, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Kukuwa, who doubled as the Chairman of the occasion, said they will strive to see the gesture sustained mainly to assist the vulnerable students who are from poor backgrounds to further their education.
Zannah Dujima of Gujba also commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for supporting youths in his administration.
A paper was also presented by Associate Professor Musa Garba Gulani of the Department of Accountancy University of Maiduguri, on the topic “Rising strong in tough times through resilience and enterprising.”
