The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Imo State Coordinator, Mrs Rachel Idaewor has encouraged Corps Members deployed to the sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work towards contributing their quota to nation-building.
She said this at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch A Stream 2 orientation Course, emphasizing that the expectations on the graduate youth was high and they could not afford to let down the Country.
Thus, they should sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and discipline.
Furthermore, they are to build on the skills acquired during the three weeks orientation course for self reliance and the advancement of their host communities .
To achieve the mandate of nation-building, Corps Members were again advised to participate actively in Community Development Service as they commence the next phase he enjoined, the Corps Members were enjoined to embark on Developmental projects that will positively impact the lives of individuals in the State.

On security, the Coordinator assured the Corps Members of their safety which she said remains the topmost priority of the NYSC Management.
She advised them to be security conscious in all their dealings throughout their service Year,cautioning them against embarking on unauthorized journeys, night travels, acceptance of car rides from undesignated parks and strangers.

The Coordinator further tasked the Corps Members to be obedient and law-abiding at all times,while adhering to the NYSC Bye Laws for a rewarding service Year.
She used the opportunity to commend the Course Participants and Collaborating Agencies for their tireless efforts towards the success of the orientation course.
