The Rector of the College Of Culture, Science And Technology, Lafia, Dr.Musa
Yahaya Maikafi, has stated that the College produces job creators not job seekers.
The Rector gave the assertion at weekend during the matriculation ceremony of the
College for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
The ceremony, which was the second since the College got elevated to a polytechnic, had in attendance six hundred and twenty-two (622) students admitted into such
programmes as Agricultural Technology, Applied Sciences Engineering Technology And
Environmental Science.
The College, which was established over four decades ago as a training school for middle-level manpower, has trained many professionals in the agricultural sector in Nigeria.
Speaking further, he enjoined the fresh students to take full advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities at the College to broaden their horizons towards ensuring sustainable food security in Nigeria.
“The College has produced many professionals in the agricultural sector, majority of whom are doing well today. You are, therefore, urged to focus on your studies so as not to be left behind.
“Here, at the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, we produce job creators not job seekers,” he explained.
In his goodwill massage to the Institution,the Ag.Director, Lafia Zonal Office, Mr. Boniface Ali Tukura congratulated the fresh students on their matriculation, while also admonishing them to stay away from social vices capable of truncating their academic aspiration.
Continuing, he urged them to key into the College’s strategic vision towards building a profitable career in the Nigerian agricultural sector.
