Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of learners and teachers in the 2023/2024 Unified Promotion Examination.
Prof. Arigbabu during the monitoring of the examination at Odogbolu, Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu and Abeokuta South Local Government Areas, commended the learners for maintaining decorum in the examination halls, saying it was an indication of a growing system.
He noted that the commitment of Prince Dapo Abiodun’s government towards an enviable educational standard and hitch-free conduct of examination were being realised, saying materials for the examination were enough, just as other logistics enhanced a seamless exercise.
While appreciating school administrators for adequate arrangements and preparation of students for the examination, the Commissioner expressed optimism that learners’ positive attitude towards their studies would enable them to achieve the best in life.
“I’m quite impressed with what I have seen; all the materials arrived on time. The question papers and answer booklets were neatly produced; the invigilators are around to ensure good conduct of the examination and all the students were well arranged,” he said.
In their separate responses, Principals, Methodist Comprehensive College junior and senior, Dr. Olubunmi Womiloju and Mr. Babatunji Yusuf, respectfully, their counterparts in Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta, Mr. Oludare Sorinola and Titilayo Agbaje, as well as Memorial Comprehensive High School, Imodi-Mosan, Ijebu, Mrs. Morounkeji Oladele, pointed out that zero tolerance for examination malpractices operates in the state, hence the need for proper arrangements of learners.
Other schools visited include, Ifesowapo Comprehensive High School, Imodi-Imosan; Moslem Comprehensive High School, Ijebu-Ode; Sonyindo Comprehensive High School, Sagamu and Government Science and Technical College, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
