The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged corps members to shun acts capable of breaching peace and unity of Nigeria.
State Coordinator NYSC, Ebonyi State, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, gave the admonition at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Course at the NYSC permanent orientation Camp, Old MacGregor College, Afikpo.
“Shun any act capable of reaching the peace and unity of the Nation. Do ensure you promote development, peace, unity and integration so as to enhance National development”, she said.
She commended the corps members for being diligent to their assigned duties throughout the three weeks camping exercise.
“This set of corps members have been diligent in carrying out their assigned duties. They have displayed a great sense of oneness, discipline and dedication to duty. This remarkable bonding existing among them is a clear indication that the scheme is achieving its objectives of developing common ties among the youths; promoting national unity and integration.
“So, I commend you all for your commitment and good conduct during this orientation course.”
The NYSC boss urged the corps members to accept their postings in good faith and go out there and contribute their quota to the development of their host community and Ebonyi State at large.
She added, “Dear compatriots in National Service, it is imperative to remind you at this juncture to remain good ambassadors
of your respective families, NYSC scheme and the country bearing in mind that a lot has been invested in you.”
She commended Governor Francis Nwifuru over what she termed his numerous supports which had contributed to the overall success of the camping exercise, especially the renovation of the Multi-Purpose hall.
