Barring last-minute interventions, the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities and Associated Institutions, NASU, will commence a protest in the nation’s capital Abuja on Thursday.
The protest which is expected to kick off from the Unity Fountain Abuja by 8 am will see the affected staff matching to the Office of the Minister of Education, Mamman Tahir to further ventilate their grievances over the non-payment of their four months’ salary when they joined ASUU for industrial action in 2022.
Although President Bola Tinubu gave a directive that the affected staff be paid their salaries, SSANU and NASU members have yet to receive their payment several months after the directive was issued.
