A group, De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), a Non-Governmental Organi- sation on Saturday in Awka announced its 2024 scholar ship scheme.
Designed for beneficiaries from primary six pupils transiting to secondary schools from the South East states of the country, it is the second edition of the scheme which kicked off last year with 250 beneficiaries.
This session, the group will extend the scheme to 300 beneficiaries.
Briefing the press during which he announced the commencement of the 2024 scholarship scheme, the Chief Executive Officer of Best Brain Contest, organisers of the contest Dr. Frank Igbojindu described De Imperial Philanthropic Family under the leadership of Dr. Darlington Nwabunike as a Non-Governmental Organisation comprising proud sons of Igbo land, who aim at eradicating poverty through education by supporting the education of young minds in the region.
Igbojindu said: “The Imperial Philanthropic Family is a collective of individual philanthropists who have joined hands with a shared vision of empowering the youth through education.
“We believe that education is a powerful tool for transforming lives and building a brighter future for our communities.”
Building on the success of the inaugural edition in 2023 where 250 students from the five states of the Southeast were awarded scholarships, he said the group is excited to announce that this year’s programme will target over 300 beneficiaries from the region.
He said: “The DIPF Scholarships Exercise will kick off on August 3, 2024, and will be open to primary 6 pupils who will be transitioning to Junior Secondary School 1 (JS1) by September 2024.
“The organisation, un- der the able leadership of Dr. Darlington Nwabunike, is committed to supporting the selected beneficiaries throughout their secondary education, providing them with the necessary resources to excel academically.
