Private school owners have been charged to prioritise moral education, in order to produce educative models and a well-grounded citizenry.
Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu gave the charge while playing host to the Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS) in Abeokuta, saying educating learners morally would help reduce the level of decadence, such as internet fraud, indecent dressing, indiscipline, hooliganism, cultism, among others.
He also admonished the association to organise conferences to intimate its members on the need to always ensure compliance with policies, as well as rules and regulations of the ministry, adding that their cooperation would contribute to achieving the present administration’s Education Revitalisation Agenda.
“As stakeholders, you should know what is going on and also influence the policy, we will continue to give you every necessary support”, he said.
Speaking earlier, Chairman, AMIS, Ogun State Chapter, Alhaji Tajudeen Adeotan applauded the Ministry for its developmental initiatives and policies.
