The Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, has urged the youth to harness technology and innovation to compete globally with their peers.
Ojediran, who was the guest speaker, made the call during the Valedictory Service for the outgoing SS3 students of Adedokun International Schools on Monday in Iyana-Iyesi, Ota.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the school, founded in September 2009, graduated 77 SS3 students for the 2023/2024 academic session.
According to Ojediran, for youths to remain relevant and competitive, they must embrace technology and innovation to stay ahead.
“At this age of technology, they should leverage it in everything they do to achieve their dreams,” Ojediran said.
She emphasised that there was no room for stagnation in today’s dynamic world.
“I implore you to stay focused, dedicated, and disciplined, as these are the key attributes needed to succeed at this stage.
“Work diligently to become responsible future leaders,” he added.
Ojediran also commended the parents for their investment in their children’s education, adding that their efforts had yielded positive results.
In his welcome address, Dr Mike Fatukasi, the Principal of the school, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to strive to make a positive impact in the world through education.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” Fatukasi said.
He urged the graduates to go forth and make their mark, changing the world with their wisdom.
