CApIC-ACE Marks World Cancer Day, Reiterates Commitment To Research

OGUN – As Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE) joins the international community to commemorate World Cancer Day, it has restated support for cancer research and innovation and also promoted cancer awareness and education.

World Cancer Day is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness, promoting education, and encouraging action to combat cancer.

Prof. Emeka Iweala, Centre Leader, CApIC-ACE, in a statement made available to Daily Independent, stated that the centre recognizes the devastating effects of cancer on individuals, families, and the global community.

Prof Iweala stated, “We commend the resilience of cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and researchers who work tirelessly to provide support, care, and solutions.

“CApIC ACE is committed to contributing our part in the global fight against cancer through research, education, and community outreach.

“Our research outputs in genomics are contributing to improvement in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.”

He added, “On this World Cancer Day, we reaffirm our commitment to continue to support cancer research, innovation, and also promote cancer awareness and education.”

The CApIC-ACE Centre Leader appealed to all Nigerians, irrespective of creed or status, to work together to create a cancer-free world.
