The Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has pledged to harness the gifted talents of Corps Members serving in the State.
His Excellency, while presiding over the Swearing-In ceremony /official commencement of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream ll Orientation course at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Eziama Obaire Nkwerre LGA, said that the State Government will stop at nothing to harness the gifted talents of Corps Members through the Ministry of Digital Economy by equipping them with modern digital skills before the end of the service year.
Governor Uzodinma, represented at the occasion by Honourable Dr. Mandela Ukaegbu, the Chairman of NYSC State Governing Board and Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, said that the Uzodimma-led administration, which prioritizes the welfare of Corps Members deployed to the State, will review the State monthly allowance.
He further promised that the two best-behaved Corps Members at the end of the orientation course would be rewarded with cash rewards as it is now the culture of his administration.
The Corps Members were equally encouraged to sustain a high level of discipline, resilience and hard work in giving a significant position of the Scheme as a true symbol of national unity and development and a beacon of hope for a united and better Nigeria.
The State Government further pledged to take up the holistic renovation of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp to make the camp environment conducive and welcoming to all Corps Members deployed to Imo State.
Earlier, the Chief Judge of Imo State, who was represented by Hon. Justice Obinna Nwachukwu administered Oath Allegiance to the 1235 (631 males and 604 females) registered Corps Members for the 2025 Batch A Stream 1 Orientation course.
The NYSC Imo State Coordinator, Mr Evans Okwor, in his introductory address, appreciated the Government of Imo State for its good intentions to assist the Scheme in the State while pledging the Scheme’s determination to sustain its contributions to the development of the State.
He equally noted that the Corps Members have so far displayed a high level of discipline, indicating their readiness to offer their services in high spirits.
The occasion had the display of Marshal Arts and Tug of War by Corps Members and the inspection of Camp facilities by the Special Guest.
