Officials from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Monday, 23rd June 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, ahead of the NYSC pre-mobilisation sensitisation programme organised by the Students’ Affairs Division.
The officials were received on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Adenike Omotunde Boyo, at the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room on the 6th floor, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
The Team Lead and Director, General Services, NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, stated in her remarks that amongst the several universities that collaborate with NYSC, Lagos State University stands out as an institution that is straightforward, has integrity and dedicated.
Mrs Baderinwa appreciated the university management for receiving the team and appealed for continuous seamless collaborations.
In her response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Administration), Professor Adenike Omotunde Boyo, welcomed the NYSC officials, expressed appreciation for their visit and commended the strong relationship maintained with Lagos State University.
The Registrar, Mr Emmanuel A. FANU, ably represented by the Deputy Registrar, Academic Staff Establishment (ASE), Mr Samuel Otesanya, gave the vote of thanks.
Other members of the team at the meeting were, Chief Inspector, NYSC Lagos, Mrs Modupe Adesoji and ICT Officer, NYSC Lagos, Mrs Moji Ahmodu.
In attendance at the meeting were the University Bursar, Mr Said Olayinka, represented by Deputy Bursar, Budget and Budgetary Control, Lagos State Government Matters, Mr Kunle Odunlami; the University Librarian, Dr Omawunmi Makinde; Acting Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr Abiodun Fatai-Abatan; Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs Division, Mr Abdulahmmed Lawal and Deputy Registrar/Head NYSC Mobilisation Unit, Mrs Mulikat Olorunfunmi.
Equally in attendance was the Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr Lateef Sekoni; Deputy Registrar/Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Lateef Salami, members of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and members of the Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR).
