The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) under the leadership of Professor Is-haq Oloyede, has been commended for its strategic efforts in eliminating admission racketeering especially through the implementation of the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
This accolade was given by the Registrar of the newly-established Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES), Mr. Dada Olawole, in Iyin-Ekiti, during the courtesy visit of the Ekiti State Coordinator, Mr. Olukayode Dada, and his team to the institution.
According to the Registrar, CAPS has proved its mettle over the years on account of its transparent, credible, and foolproof mechanism for processing admission of suitably-qualified candidates into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The Registrar further stated that the introduction of CAPS has restored public confidence in the nation’s admission process and brought integrity and order to a system that was once prone to manipulation.
He commended JAMB for its consistency, thoroughness, and accountability in its management of admission processing, describing the CAPS platform as a game-changing innovation that has raised the standard of operations in Nigeria’s higher education system.
In his remarks, the State Coordinator reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to sustaining the CAPS system and restated its commitment towards ensuring equity and transparency in admission placement.
He also used the opportunity to guide the top functionaries of the institution through the critical components of CAPS while encouraging them to familiarise themselves fully with its procedures for seamless adoption.
