As Mrs Olayinka Nasamu, the Ogun State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) marks another birthday today, her exemplary and managerial expertise has been described as outstanding and all-inclusive.
It would be recalled that the Ikere-Ekiti State born Princess, Mrs. Nasamu, in recognition of her commitment to service of Nigeria was honoured in June 2025 with the Distinguished Leadership in Youth Entrepreneurship and Cultural Promotion Award by the Institute for African Culture and International Understanding (IACIU), a UNESCO category 2 Institute established in 2009.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen, Mr Emmanuel Igba, an Assistant Chief Information & Public Relations Officer Ogun NYSC described Mrs Nasamu as an accomplished and dedicated public servant of exemplary conducts and skills.
Igba stated, “As State Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu has distinguished herself through exemplary leadership, fostering discipline, innovation, and inclusiveness in the NYSC Ogun State family.
“Nasamu’s leadership is marked by elegance, humility, and meticulous attention to details.
“Nasamu is a distinguished administrator, a dedicated public servant, and a symbol of integrity in Nigeria’s public service landscape.
She is an outstanding scholar with a degree in English Education from the former Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University), where she graduated with honours.
Her career in public service began in 1992 with the completion of her National Youth Service in Edo State, laying the foundation for an exceptional professional journey that has spanned over two decades. She has built a remarkable career within the NYSC, holding several key managerial positions over the years.
Her leadership abilities culminated in her appointment as the State Coordinator of NYSC Ebonyi State in 2023 and subsequently deployed to Ogun State in October 2023, where she currently serves as the State Coordinator.
Known for her strategic insight, professionalism, and unwavering dedication, Mrs. Nasamu has brought a new level of excellence to the NYSC Ogun State Secretariat. Under her stewardship, the Secretariat has recorded significant achievements, including winning the prestigious award for the Best NYSC Secretariat in the South West, surpassing states such as Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo.
Her commitment to the NYSC Director-General’s Policy Thrust and Focal Areas is evident in her inclusive leadership style and innovative staff motivation strategies, which have significantly enhanced productivity and morale across the board.
Nasamu’s leadership is marked by elegance, humility, and a meticulous attention to detail. Her warmth, empathy, and refined disposition continue to inspire her colleagues and subordinates alike.
