Ogun Schools Resume For New Academic Session – Commissioner

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has affirmed that schools across the Twenty Local Government Area of the State have fully resumed for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Prof. Arigbabu revealed this while monitoring the first term resumption at Remo, Ijebu and Egba axis of the State, assuring that the government has put all necessary mechanisms in place to ensure an improved and better transfer of knowledge.

Arigbabu highlighted some of the measures, as massive supply of furniture in all Flagship schools, construction and rehabilitation of classrooms, laboratories and befitting offices with modern toilet facilities to make teaching and learning process interesting and conducive.

He also commended an SS3 student of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Jesulayomi Ògúndìjo who made the State proud by winning several medals at both national and international school’s sports competition, while he enjoined others to emulate such zeal not only in academic but also in extracurricular activities.

The Commissioner also hinted that the State is implementing the federal government policies made to rejig the curriculum for the purposes of ensuring that learners come out with optimal performance.

“We will continue as a government to put in place structures and facilities that will enable us achieve the Education Revitalisation Agenda, as we will also continue to deliver on our promises to ensure the education sector of our dear State is taken to a higher pedestal,” Arigbabu affirmed.

In their separate remarks, Principals, Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Ijebu Ode and Ifesowapo Comprehensive High School, Imodi-Mosan, Odogbolu, Mr. Alaba Olúgbewésà and Mrs. Adebisi Ògúnsóbò respectively, said learners’ turnout was quite impressive, saying activities had begun fully in schools with cleaning of the environment and welcome test.

Schools visited were Ifesowapo High School, Imodi-Mosan, Odogbolu, Local Government Nursery and Primary School, Obalende, Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Moslem Comprehensive High School, Ijebu-Ode, Moslem Primary School, Ososa,

Others were St. James Anglican Primary School, Iperu Remo,

Christ Apostolic Grammar School Iperu, Orile Ignore Grammar School, Ajura and Abeokuta Grammar School.
