Architect Chibuikem Onyekachi Emmanuel, the Managing Director of Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd, has bagged an Honorary Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Abraham University, Texas, United States of America.
The Honorary Doctorate was awarded to the young business mogul during the 2025 Leadership Conference of the institution, held in Abuja earlier in October 2025; a conference that was organized by the Department of Global Leadership Development of Abraham University.
Speaking with newsmen on this feat, Architect Onyekachi expressed gratitude to God for the recognition, describing it as a call to greater service and commitment to humanity.
He stated that leadership is not about titles but about influence, vision, and the ability to inspire others toward a collective purpose.
He posited that, as a businessman, he derives joy in mentoring younger ones by helping them to discover their skills and potentials in their early stages of life in order to become better versions of who they want to be.
On his feelings towards the Honorary Doctorate Degree, Architect Onyekachi stated that the recognition from an international university like Abraham University reflects years of dedication, innovation, and faith-driven leadership in both business and community development; adding that Powell Homes and Shelters Ltd will continue to set standards in providing affordable, quality housing and creating job opportunities for young Nigerians.
He also emphasized the need for integrity and consistency in business practice, saying that leadership must always be tied to service and impact rather than personal gain.
However, the event attracted top leaders from different sectors, including education, governance, and ministry.
The Abuja conference was also part of a nationwide leadership engagement that took place in Lagos and Makurdi by the noble institution, aimed at equipping participants with principles of global leadership and excellence.
