President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, named the Federal University of Health and Medical Sciences (FUMS), Azare, after the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Tinubu announced this during his condolence visit to Bauchi State over the death of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who died at the age of 102.
He described the death as a great national loss, noting that the Sheikh’s life embodied humility, service, and dedication.
He prayed for strength for Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s family, the government, and the people of Bauchi State to bear the loss.
The President also thanked Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, for his continued support to the family.
On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his appreciation to the President for the condolence visit.
Governor Bala assured the President that the people of Bauchi State stand with the Federal Government.
In Tinubu’s entourage were Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives; the governors of Plateau and Yobe states; the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Health; Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the 8th Assembly; Senator Shehu Buba Umar; and other top government officials.
