The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS), Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, joined other members of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Public Schools (ANCOPSS), Lagos State, at the Association’s Monthly Executive meeting held at Eva Adelaja Girls’ Secondary School, Bariga.
Discussions at the meeting largely focused on improving academic standards in Lagos State, with particular emphasis on achieving better outcomes in both internal and external examinations.
In his contribution, the TG/PS stressed the need for Principals to reposition academic performance in a sustainable manner by adopting strategic and data-driven approaches to enhance students’ performance. He commended the State Government for its commitment to education development, noting that school administrators must intensify efforts to complement government initiatives.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Lagos State, Mr. Hasan Akintoye, emphasized the importance of regular review and analysis of examination results to support informed decision-making. He noted that such reviews help in identifying subjects requiring special attention.
The ANCOPSS President, Mr. Olusola Maseyi, urged members to raise their level of commitment, collaborate more effectively, and seek the continued support of Tutor-Generals/Permanent Secretaries across the six Education Districts to achieve collective success in the State.
The meeting was well attended by ANCOPSS Chairmen and Secretaries from across the State, as well as top education officials, underscoring a shared resolve to advance academic excellence in Lagos State.
