Governor Uzodimma Task Corps Members On National Development

Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, on Friday, tasked Corps Members to develop a positive outlook towards national development with particular emphasis on the development of critical sectors of the economy in the State.

He encouraged the Corps Members to continuously strive to contribute meaningfully in every sector with lasting impression that would transcend beyond their service year.

Governor Uzodinma’s advice was contained in his address at the Swearing-In Ceremony/ official commencement of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream l Orientation course at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Permanent Orientation camp, Eziama Obaire.

The Governor, represented by the Director, Planning, Ministry of Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Mr. Chinedu Umeh, equally tasked Corps Members to remain disciplined and patriotic as they dutifully render selfless services to the Nigerian people. .

Senator Uzodinma enjoined the Corps Members to use the opportunity of the orientation course to promote national integration by bonding together regardless of their socio- cultural and religious background, through which they could complement the objectives of the NYSC, Scheme.

The Corps Members were further assured that Imo State Government, as a responsible and responsive government will continue to support and create an enabling environment for the Scheme to thrive in the State.

He assured the management that the state is committed to providing adequate security and welfare packages to the Corps Members during the service year.

Earlier in his introductory address, Mr Evans Okwor, the NYSC Imo State Coordinator, disclosed that the Corps Members have since their arrival to the camp, displayed great sense of discipline and commitment towards the orientation course.

The Coordinator, while thanking the State Government and spirited individuals for their positive disposition and support to the Scheme, solicited for more cooperation, especially towards upgrading the facilities at the orientation camp.

High pointof the occasion was the administering of the Oath of Allegiance to the Corps members by Hon. Justice Obinna Nwachukwu, who represented the Chief Judge of Imo State.
Other dignitaries at the occasion include , the Brigade Commander, 34 Artillary Brigade, Obinze, represented by Maj. Obu, the Commissioner of Police Imo state and the Commandant, NSCDC who were ably represented.
