UNILAG: CMUL Celebrates Guinness World Record Attempt By Alumnus, Fola David

The Management of the College of Medicine University of Lagos, (CMUL) on Friday, July 19, 2024 showed their solidarity and support to an alumnus of the College, Dr. Gbadamosi Adefemi David, also known as Fola David, as he strives to break the Guinness world book of records for the Largest Art Drawing.

The College secretary, Dr. Olayinka Obafemi-Moses; and Director of Students’ Affairs, Professor Olufemi Fasanmade; who led a cross-section of administrative staff on the solidarity visit expressed admiration for Fola David’s determination and artistic prowess.

The duo emphasized the importance of his endeavor in promoting national cohesion through art, and affirmed that the colossal artwork is not just a bid for the record books but also a tribute to Nigeria’s unity in diversity.

They highlighted Fola David’s exemplary dedication, and urged current students to be inspired by his story to push beyond their limits, and make their alma mater proud.

In recognition of his efforts, he was awarded a plaque of excellence and an honorary sash, symbolizing the College’s pride in his achievements.

The World Record Project, which began on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 and is scheduled to end on Sunday, July 21, 2024, aims to be the largest drawing in the world by an individual.

This monumental endeavour not only sets a new benchmark for artistic achievement but also reinforces the power of art in fostering national unity and pride, displaying the map of Nigeria and its various tribes and cultures.
