Associations and Unions in the Education sector of Ogun State have been admonished to ensure adequate welfare of members, and be a role model to them.
Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu gave the admonition during a get-together party organised by the Ministry to celebrate his 62nd birthday at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying it was important to take good care of their subordinates and avoid distractions that could make them lose focus.
Prof. Arigbabu, appreciated the management and staff of the Ministry, as well as representatives of All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), for organising the programme in his honour.
Speaking during the event, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Oloko described Prof. Arigbabu as an epitome of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, whose contributions had brought about great transformation to the education sector of the state, especially in the area of technology.
In his speech, the Minority Leader, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye said the Commissioner is a man of integrity whose unique experience and influence had revolutionised Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Tai Solarin University of Education during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
In their remarks, Permanent Secretary, Public Service Reforms, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, State President of ANCOPSS, Comrade Adeniyi Adekoya and Executive Secretary of Ogun Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Mikhail Lawal eulogised Prof. Arigbabu for his ingenuity, expertise, professionalism, scientific and technological approach to the education sector in the state.
