Ogun State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has commended the Alumni of the Marketing Department of Mushood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta, for giving back to the institution.

Prof. Arigbabu made this commendation during the commissioning of ‘Legacy House’ building, donated by the ’94 Set of the Department, appealing to the current student of the institution, other alumni, corporate bodies and philanthropists to emulate the gesture and contribute to the development of their alma mater.

The Commissioner described MAPOLY as one of the most respected institutions in the country which had produced reputable individuals who have made great impact in various fields of human endeavour, enjoining the students and management to ensure proper care and maintenance of the facility, in order to encourage the donors and others to do more.

“I want to commend you for what you have done; this is a very worthy gift,. If after 30 years these ones could come back to donate this kind of edifice, it’s a clue to current students to also follow suit by coming back to sow seeds in this Institution”, he said.

On his part, Rector of the institution, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, described the building donated as landmark and unique gift, saying it was the biggest of all the donations to the school by alumni associations.

Speaking on behalf of the donors, President of the ’94 Set of the Marketing Department, Mr. Yanju Adelakun, explained that the 150 million Naira-worth building boasts of a modern library, lecturers’ offices, stores, conference halls and toilet facilities, appreciating government for ensuring its completion.
