The Ogun State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs Olayinka Nasamu, has applauded the Executive Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, Hon. Damilare Sikiru Alebiosu, for his unwavering commitment and consistent support to the Scheme.
The commendation came during a courtesy visit by Mrs Nasamu and her team to the chairman at his office in Ijebu Ode as part of her stakeholder engagement efforts ahead of the 2025 Batch A Stream One Orientation Course, in line with the directive of the NYSC Director General.
Speaking on behalf of the NYSC Management, Nasamu expressed heartfelt appreciation for the chairman’s dedication to Corps Members’ welfare.
She highlighted his exceptional contributions, noting that he was the only council chairman who sent vehicles to pick up Corps Members posted to Ijebu-Ode after the last Orientation Course and also honoured the Scheme by attending the Cultural Carnival on short notice.
“We sincerely appreciate your generosity and passion. Your selfless support continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our corps members,” she stated.
The Coordinator also used the occasion to introduce the new NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, and informed the chairman of the scheduled date for the commencement of the next Orientation exercise.
She appealed for his continued support and collaboration in ensuring a smooth and successful Orientation Course.
In his remarks, Hon. Alebiosu warmly received the NYSC team and reaffirmed his commitment to the Scheme.
He pledged to extend even greater support, including donating essential items to the Orientation camp and personally attending selected Camp activities.
The visit also featured the presentation of waste bins by Corps Members to the Ijebu Ode Local Government Secretariat as part of their Community Development Service (CDS) to promote environmental cleanliness and hygiene.
The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between NYSC Ogun State and key stakeholders in ensuring the safety, comfort, and productivity of Corps Members across the State.
