The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), Lagos State University, on Monday, 16th June 2025, commenced a three-day academic leadership workshop for Heads of Departments.
The workshop themed “Smart Leadership for Smart Universities: Leveraging ICT and AI for Departmental Efficiency”, took place at the Zenith ICT Centre, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
Speaking at the opening session, the Director, DICT, Professor Oluwatoyin Enikuomehin, emphasised that the workshop was designed to equip academic leaders with emerging knowledge and practical strategies to harness technology for more efficient and effective departmental administration.
The workshop featured hands-on training sessions and interactive discussions focusing on the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital security awareness, risks associated with open-access Wi-Fi, and essential digital tools for managing a 21st-century smart university.
Participants benefitted from the insights of seasoned facilitators, including Director, DICT, Professor Oluwatoyin ENIKUOMEHIN; Global Head, Unicrone Private Ltd, India, Mr Santosh Kulkami; LASU Data Protection Officer, Mr Bolaji Ojediran, and CSA, DICT, Mr Adebisi Yusuf.
The well-attended programme concluded on Wednesday, 18th June 2025, leaving participants better informed and equipped to drive digital transformation at the departmental level.
