The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), has issued a stern warning to the public regarding fraudulent activities by individuals demanding money to secure teaching employment with the Lagos state government.
The permanent secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, raised the alarm Monday, urging members of the public not to fall victim to scammers who claim they can assist in short-listing applicants or sell TESCOM teaching slots to unsuspecting individuals.
Mrs. Oyekan-Ismaila noted that the online submission of applications for teacher recruitment into the Lagos State Public Service has just concluded.
She explicitly stated that the commission has not yet commenced the short-listing process for candidates.
The PS stated that the recruitment exercise into the state public service is purely merit-based with no monetary requirements at any stage.
She advised the public to disregard notices being circulated via WhatsApp messages and other social media platforms that request monetary gratifications from unsuspecting applicants to “help secure TESCOM teaching slots” or for “checking of dashboards for short listing of applicants.”
