Ogun State Government has assured stakeholders of its commitment to improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure at the Social Development Institute, Shasha, Iperu.
Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon. Ademola Balogun gave the assurance during a chat with newsmen in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying that upgrade and renovation of the Institute would commence in due time.
Hon. Balogun said infrastructure development in education was key to maximising the economic potential and growth of any state or country, hence improving the Institute was top of its priority list.
“As a government, we know that having a good infrastructure with all facilities in place would positively impact how teachers teach and students learn, so this government is committed to giving teachers and students the best possible, so that they can function effectively, thereby improving the economy of the State.
The renovation of Social Development Institute, Shasha is number one on the list of government and will do it soonest,” Balogun said.
He noted that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration was dedicated to fostering a conducive teaching and learning environment in order to ensure students thrive, adding that its impact cannot be overemphasised.
The Commissioner who revealed that the contract had been awarded, but its execution was delayed due to price variation in the value of building materials at the time of award, hinting that a team from the State and the contractor would reevaluate the facility and commence proper upgrade.
He added that the present administration was keen at ensuring a legacy project was sited in Shasha, Iperu.
He assured students of the Institute of government’s commitment towards transforming the infrastructure, saying government would continually invest in their wellbeing in and out of the facility to further enhance the quality of life of all residents in the State.
