Mrs. Yinka Shokunbi, Managing Editor of HealthStylePlus, has been elected President of the Ogun State University Pioneer Alumni Association (OSUPAA) during the association’s 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
A statement signed by Evangelist Kayode Ajala, the Public Relations Officer for OSUPAA, announced the other members of the executive team.
They include Mrs. Funmilayo Egbuna as the Vice President (Nigeria), Mr. Akintunde Lawrence as the Vice President (North America), Mr. Adunola Sowemimo as the Vice President (Europe), Mrs. Olukemi Somoye as the General Secretary, and Pastor (Mrs.) Olubunmi Bajomo as the Assistant General Secretary.
The executive council members who will support President Shokunbi for the next two years are Mrs. Abimbola Daisi-Daini (Treasurer), Mr. Babatunde Oduwaiye (Financial Secretary), Evangelist Olukayode Ajala (PRO/Socials), Duchess Ibilola Akinwunmi (Chief Whip), Mrs. Olubunmi Owoeye (Welfare Officer), and Barrister Ayodele Omotara (Legal Officer).
In her address at the AGM, the outgoing President, Mrs. Funmilayo Olotu, expressed gratitude to all members of the association for their cooperation and support during her tenure.
She reflected on the challenges and achievements her team experienced and encouraged members to continue to keep the spirit of the association alive.
Olotu’s Achievements
Under Olotu’s leadership, OSUPAA completed an 8-room comfort facility known as the “Legacy Project” to commemorate 40 years since the university’s founding and the matriculation of its pioneer class.
Additionally, OSUPAA organised its first Global Reunion and Awards event to unite members worldwide and honour outstanding pioneers in various fields.
Olotu’s address received enthusiastic applause from attendees, who offered resounding praise for the efforts of the outgoing executives.
The Ogun State University Pioneer Alumni Association (OSUPAA) comprises the founding students of Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, which is now known as Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye.
The association aims to foster the development of the university and promote the welfare of its members.
