Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, has urged Nigerian youths to be consistent in what they do, even as he called on them to embrace reading culture in order to actualise their glorious destinies.
Gbajabiamila, who was speaking at the unveiling of a new book, titled ‘Power of Consistency’, written by Dr Oluyemi Owolabi, the Chief Executive Officer of Exipidale Logistics Services Ltd, and published in both English and Braille, to inspire and empower young entrepreneurs, particularly the visually impaired ones.
Hon. Muyideen Hamzat, who represented Ghajabiamila at the event held at Whiteley Event Centre, Surulere, Lagos, congratulated Owolabi for producing the book in both English and Braille formats.
He said: “You have made us proud. You have made Surulere proud. You have made Lagos proud.
“One of the visions of our leader, Rt Hon Gbajabiamila, is promoting education and investing in youths..
He noted that the title of the book was significant because, whether in business or in political journey “if you are consistent, you are bound to succeed.”
In his speech, Owolabi said he produced the Braille edition to ensure inclusivity and provide access to business knowledge for persons with vision impairment.
“I want to encourage those with disabilities. I don’t even call them people with disabilities, I call them people with special abilities.
“And that is why this book was not just written only in English, but transcribed into Braille so that the visually impaired young entrepreneur can also learn and be empowered.”
He disclosed that Mr Opeyemi Akinola, who reviewed the book, “is a CEO with visual impairment.”
The 235-page is a self help memoir chronicling the author’s personal and professional journey through loss, depression, and rebuilding his business from scratch after facing significant setbacks.
“In 2023, life threw me a curveball. I lost my mum in 2022, and my wife who managed daily operations passed on the following year.
“I became depressed; could barely sleep. My life was in pieces. But, through the power of consistency, I started over again with no clients, no structure, just one customer based in the UK.
“That one happy customer referred to another and the loop is endless. One year down the line, we were adjudged the best logistics business in Lagos State by Topnotch Business Awards in 2024 and 2025.
“I felt compelled to put that story into writing to inspire others,” Owolabi recounted.
He encouraged readers, especially the youths, to stay focused on their goals, even when life becomes uncertain.
“Guest speaker and member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Surulere Constituency 1, Hon Desmond Elliot, described the book as a powerful tool for self actualisation and personal growth.
“There is a unique insight in the book about not comparing your progress to others. Focus on your path, thrive where you have been planted and grow from there.
Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Muiz Dosunmu, who represented the Chairman, Yusuf Bamidele Sulaiman, praised the author for his resilience and urged the public to support his good work.
“I urge everyone to get a copy, read it and support the author. Reading is better than idleness, or watching television,” he said.
The launch attracted several lawmakers, including Hon Fuad Laguda, who was very excited about the Braille edition of the book.
Former colleagues in the aviation industry and business stakeholders also graced the event, which coincided with the author’s 40th birthday celebration.
