Lagos State Examinations Board Restates Commitment To Uphold Values, Completes 2025 Trade Test

The Lagos State Examinations Board, on Thursday, announced the successful conclusion of the Year 2025 Trade Test across all designated centres in the State.

The exercise that was hitch free had the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, joining the Board to oversee and monitor the conduct of the exercise.

The Permanent Secretary, Mrs Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite joined the Registrar/Director,Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr Orunsolu Adebayo to assess the conduct of the test and ensure that the process was in line with the government’s standards of transparency, fairness, and excellence.

During her visit, she interacted with candidates and officials, observing the practical aspects of the test across multiple trades including Tailoring, Hairdressing,Cathering, and Graphics Design, among others.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary commended the Lagos State Examinations Board for its efficient coordination and professional handling of the exercise.

She applauded the dedication of the artisans and encouraged them to take pride in their crafts, emphasizing that vocational skills remain a vital pillar in the State’s drive for youth empowerment, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.

She also urged the candidates to remain diligent, disciplined, and committed to continuous improvement, noting that certification through the Trade Test is not only a mark of technical competence but also a gateway to greater opportunities in both local and international labour markets.

Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, expressed deep appreciation to the Permanent Secretary for her presence, guidance, and encouragement, describing her visit as a great motivation to the Board and all participants. He reaffirmed the Board’s readiness to continue upholding the values of excellence, integrity, and service delivery in all examinations conducted.

The Year 2025 Trade Test has once again demonstrated the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to promoting technical and vocational education as a means of building a skilled, self-reliant, and productive workforce for the future.
