Covenant University Announces Programmes Marking 17th Convocation

The management of the Covenant University, Otta, Ogun State on Tuesday unveiled activities marking the 17th convocation of the institution.

A statement made available Education Roadmap and signed by Dr. Lanre Amodu, the Chairperson of the Convocation Planning Committee stated that the convocation for the 2022 academic session will commence on Thursday 5th and run through Saturday 7th of January, 2023.

The statement reads in parts: “The 17th convocation activities will begin on Thursday with the Special Convocation Service, immediately after which there will be hooding lectures across the four Colleges and the School of Postgraduate Studies.

“These lectures will cover various evolutionary aspects of higher learning, such as the driving of impactful postgraduate education in the 21st century, entrepreneurship in the digital age, new media interventions, etc.

“This will be followed by the Alumni investiture and presentation of special awards and prizes will take place later in the day.

According to Dr. Amodu, the event will culminate in the release of Eagles 2022 for the award of first and higher degrees and the presentation of prizes, which will take place on Friday, January 06, 2023, at the University Chapel.

Besides, there will be a Special Convocation Thanksgiving Service at the University’s Chapel on Saturday morning to appreciate the good hand of God upon the graduates and University.

However, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Adebayo lauded the proprietor-based and entire management of the University for the unflinching support the institution has enjoyed over the years.

He applauds parents and guardians of students and the alumni base for playing crucial roles in evolving a learning environment that has become the envy of all through the last academic session.

In the same vein, the VC thanked the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), professional bodies and partner institutions both within and outside the country, for the goodwill and supports the institution has enjoyed in the last academic session.

“Covenant University is looking forward with the renewed assurance of continually setting the pace and blazing the trail in repositioning the dignity of the black race, through a robust teaching and learning environment that will signpost the nation’s educational map on the global front, ” the statement added.
