Delegates at the 18th Annual Conference of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN), were on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, hosted to a cocktail party courtesy of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Management.
The event which held at the Senate Lounge of the UNILAG Senate House, featured musical performances by the UNILAG Music band. It was an avenue for the delegates to unwind after their trip to UNILAG, fraternize and settle in before the formal commencement of their Annual Conference on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
While welcoming the Fulbright delegates to the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, described their convergence as timely and another opportunity for the scholars to deliberate on the state of tertiary education in Nigeria.
She implored the delegates to see their presence in UNILAG as a platform to address the real challenges confronting tertiary education in Nigeria.
In her response, the President of Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN), Professor Adele Garkida showered encomium on the UNILAG management led by Professor Folasade Ogunsola, for the hospitality.
Prof. Gardika particularly acknowledged the exemplary reputation of UNILAG in the quest for a paradigm shift in the tertiary education sector and assured of the Fulbright delegates’ commitment towards making education better in Nigeria.

The conference holding with the theme: Improving the Quality of Higher Education: Stakeholders Engagement, takes place at the Faculty of Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, UNILAG Main Campus, Akoka.
Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Architect Sonny Echono is expected to deliver a keynote address titled: “Return on Investment on Tertiary Education in Nigeria” at the Conference.
