841 Corps Members Commence Orientation Course In Imo, As Governor Assures Of Better Welfare

As a total of 841 male and female corps members commence orientation course in Imo State, the Executive Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has promised to strengthen and improve their welfare during the one-year mandatory national service to the Nation.

In his address at the swearing-In ceremony/ official commencement of the 2023 Batch B ( Stream ll) Orientation course at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation camp, Eziama Obaire, the Executive Governor explained that measures have been put in place to ensure that the welfare of corps members remained top notch.

Representing the Special Guest at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youths and Sports Mrs Chioma Ibezim enjoined the Corps members to put in their best since there is a reward for every hard work.

She tasked them to have a positive outlook on issues affecting the State and the Nation at large while striving to contribute meaningfully to every sector of the Economy, just as they were further assured of their safety in the State.

“As a responsive government, it is the core mandate of the administration to provide adequate security and enabling environment to members of the Service Corps”.

In her introductory address, the NYSC Imo State Coordinator, Mrs Rachel Idaewor implored the corps members to give a good account of themselves during their stay in camp and when they commence the Primary Assignment.

She also encouraged the Corps members to remain disciplined, patriotic, duty at all times and integrate among themselves despite their diverse cultural and religious beliefs.

Mrs. Idaewor further expressed her profound appreciation for the State Government’s unflinching support of the Scheme.

The 2023 Batch B ( Stream ll) comprises 364 males and 477 females.

The Oath of Allegiance on the cors members was administered by the Chief Judge of Imo State represented by Hon. Justice Anthonette Onyeukwu.
