Femi Gbajabiamila Donates Conference Centre To LASU

The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has commended the kind gesture by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, as he donated a conference centre to the university.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed optimism that the donation would greatly contribute toward meeting the critical infrastructural needs of the LASU campus.

During the inauguration of the Femi Gbajabiamila conference centre at the Ojo main campus, by Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday, Prof. Olatunji-Bello acknowledged the significance of this act of generousness.

She emphasized that the facility will provide conducive spaces for administrative and social engagements, addressing the increasing needs of the growing staff and student population.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed her delight in receiving the edifice, saying it was the best New Year gift that the university could ask for.

Prof. Olatunji-Bello further highlighted that Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila’s donation is an investment not only in the future of LASU students but also in the future of the state itself.

The Vice-Chancellor described the event as historic for LASU, as the university takes ownership of the beautiful edifice generously donated by Gbajabiamila.

She commended his philanthropic spirit, saying that his name will forever be inscribed in the history of the university as a result of this significant contribution.

In addition to the conference centre, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has previously shown his support for LASU through other acts of generosity.

He donated a wifi facility to the university that has been of immense benefit to the students greatly and also provided equipment for the digitalisation of university records, which has played a crucial role in the university’s digitalisation drive.

Speaking further, Prof Tunji-Bello appreciated the unrelenting support by the Visitor to the university, the administration led by Governor Sanwo– Vice-Chancellor also took the opportunity to appreciate the Lagos State Government, led by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the massive investments in infrastructure and facilities throughout the university and other campuses.

She urged other well-meaning Lagosians to follow Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila’s example and make donations towards the university’s facilities and endowments as the university occupies a good space in its drive as the best university in West Africa and as a global institution.
