A new Governing Council has been named for the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro (FPI), headed by Prof. Toying Ashiru, according to an announcement on the official Whatsapp platform of the institution by the Rector, Dr. Mikhail Akinde.
Prof. Ashiru, a renowned Materials and Metallurgical Engineer, is the current Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Other nominated members of the council are Abdullahi Sani, Mariam Abubakar, Olusegun Oladimeji Bankole and Prince Joe Ogunsina.
Representing the institution’s Academic Board on the council are Engr Olumuyiwa A. Aikulola and Mr. Jamiu Olakunle Ogunbi, FCIB.
Also, the institution’s Congregation will be represented on the council by Barr. Timothy. O. Ogunseye, PhD, Barr. Hakeem O. Dawodu and Mr. Peter Adekunle Adebiyi.
The council will also be joined by the representatives of the Olu of Ilaro and the institution’s Alumni Association.
“Congratulations to the new Governing Council members, and we look forward to their valuable contributions to the growth and development of our institution,” the Rector wrote.
