IoD Strategic Committee Meets UNILAG Management, Consolidate Collaboration Plans

A six-man delegation of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IoD) paid a visit to the University of Lagos Management on Friday, September 23, 2022.
The visit was a follow-up on an initial meeting held earlier in the year, on the subject of collaboration.
Led by Dr. Segun Aina, a Fellow of the Institute and Chairman of the Strategic Committee, the IoD delegation presented a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the proposed partnership.
Director-General of the Institute, Dr. Dele Alimi explained that the draft-MoU highlighted the specific areas of cooperation and details of mutual obligations.
According to him, capacity building and advocacy in corporate governance, ethics and leadership as well as the exchange of faculty members are some of the areas of possible agreement.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe commended the Institute of Directors for their commitment to the vision. He expressed optimism about the prospects of the partnership.
“Your visit today is evidence of Town and Gown working together to move the society forward”, he said.
The Vice-Chancellor announced the membership of the UNILAG team that will interface with the Institute of Directors on a joint committee. The team includes Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), Professor Bola Oboh; Director of Academic Planning, Professor Mopelola Olusakin; Executive Director of the University of Lagos Business School, Professor Michael Adebamowo; and Principal Assistant Registrar, Legal Unit, Mr. Dada.
Thereafter, the Joint UNILAG/IoD Committee held its first meeting.
